Entre les Rangs at the Boston Seaport

A sensory stroll through an urban field. We are immediately drawn to the expanse of long, waving crystalline stems planted in the heart of the city. A tribute to fields of wheat that shimmer in the wind as the seasons pass, Entre les rangs covers a public space with thousands of flexible white stems topped with white reflectors that capture the rhythm of the surrounding urban space and reflect its life. The installation’s changing nature – depending on wind, precipitation, light (both natural and artificial) and human interaction – encourages visitors to return.

Entre les Rangs at the Boston Seaport

"Take a sensory stroll through an urban field" on Boston's Seaport. Entre les Rangs (Between the Rows) presents 28,000 reflectors mounted on moveable "stems" that shimmer and sway in the breeze as an oscillating set of spotlights bath them in blue, pink and white light.

Meant to mimic wind through a wheat field, the installation created by KANVA was originally display in Montreal, Quebec and has traveled to the Boston's Seaport for the winter. On display through February 9th, visitors are encouraged to interact with the piece and observe its changing nature as it weathers wind, rain, snow & ice.

Located at 85 Northern Ave, Entre les Rangs is walking distance from the ICA Boston as well as the Snowport: Winter Village and Skating Rink set up for the season.
