Wooden ship remains exposed on Nauset Beach- Cape Cod

A piece of what is thought to be part of an old wooden ship has been exposed on Nauset Beach in Orleans recently. The piece was discovered Saturday and was fully exposed Sunday at low tide. Natural resource officials say the large piece was not there two days ago. The wooden boards are not part of the schooner Montclair, a three-masted cargo vessel that broke apart on the outer bars in March 1927. Pieces of that vessel have been exposed farther down the beach at different times.
