Madame Sherri's abandoned chateau

New Hampshire Urban Exploration Madame Sheri Castle

Madame Sherri's abandoned chateau

Socialite and costume designer Madame Antoinette Sherri built a small chateau here in the woods of Chesterfield, New Hampshire, where she entertained guests at lavish parties during the 1920's. Left to the elements in Madame Sherri's  retirement this New England Castle burnt to the ground in 1962, leaving only this striking stone "stairway to heaven"

Some have claimed to see the spirit of #MadameSherri perched atop the stairs with the faint echo of music of a long ago party just audible among the trees.
